IPL 2022: Top 10 Bowlers

IPL 2022: Top 10 Bowlers: It was on expected lines that the pitches in IPL 2022 will show signs of slowing down. The wickets have started offering more to the bowlers. Bowlers have started to call the shots quite comprehensively. This week saw the emergence of a new kid, Mohsin Khan. CSK’s left-arm seamer, Mukesh Choudhary too impressed in a high-scoring game. The regular suspects continued their good run. Here is the list of IPL 2022 Top 10 Bowlers in a week.

We Look At The IPL 2022: Top 10 Bowlers At The End of Week Five :

#10 Rahul Chahar (12)

He continues to hold on to the tenth spot on the bowling charts. Rahul Chahar added two more to his kitty this week. He has picked 12 wickets in 9 games at an average of 21.16. His economy rate of 7.58 is pretty good. He strikes once every 16.75 balls.

#9 Kagiso Rabada (13)

The Punjab seamer for the first time in five weeks has broken into the top-10. Kagiso Rabada has picked 13 wickets in 8 games. His best came against LSG wherein he picked 4-38. Rabada’s average is 18.46 while his economy rate is a bit on the higher side (8.27). His strike rate (13.38) is impressive.

#8 Dwayne Bravo (14)

He was dropped for the game against SRH. But Dwayne Bravo has been effective for CSK despite them not having a great run this season. Bravo has picked 14 wickets at an average of 18.50. His economy rate of 8.73 is high but he primarily bowls at the death. Bravo’s strike rate (12.71) is among the best.

#7 Mohammad Shami (14)

His not so glowing T20 credentials have received a fillip this season. Mohammad Shami has been adequate for Gujarat Titans. He has picked 14 wickets in 9 games averaging 20. His economy rate (7.77) has seen a marked improvement. Shami’s strike rate of 15.42 is good.

#6 Umesh Yadav (14)

KKR’s early-season success was largely down to Umesh Yadav’s burst with the new ball. He has seen a slight dip in form over the last few games. Yadav returned to his best in the game against DC. He has picked 14 wickets in 9 games averaging 18.71 with the ball. He has conceded runs at 7.27 per over. His strike rate is strikingly similar to Shami’s (17.45).

#5 Umran Malik (15)

He is arguably India’s fastest ever bowler. Umran Malik makes a storming debut in the bowlers’ top-10 charts. His maiden fiver against GT was pace bowling of the highest order. Malik has picked 15 wickets in 9 games. He averages 19.13 with the ball. His economic rate (8.44) is on the higher side. He strikes once every 13.60 balls.

#4 Wanindu Hasaranga (15)

The RCB spinner has jumped 4 spots in the bowling charts. Wanindu Hasaranga has picked 15 wickets. He has been quietly effective for RCB who bid quite high for the Lankan wrist-spinner. His 15 wickets have come at an average of 18.20. Hasaranga’s economy rate of 8.02 is quite decent. His strike rate (13.60) is right up there.

#3 T. Natarajan (17)

It was quite a silent week for the SRH seamer. He dropped a spot down to number 3. T. Natarajan has picked 17 wickets in 9 games so far. The rise of Umran Malik has put the other SRH seamers on the sidelines. Natarajan averages 17.82 with the ball. His economy rate of 8.65 is the highest among the bowlers on this list. He strikes at every 12.35 balls.

#2 Kuldeep Yadav (17)

The fact that Kuldeep Yadav has won all the four-player of the match awards in Delhi’s all four wins speaks volumes about his success this season. He has picked 17 wickets in 9 games at an average of 15.82. His economy rate of 8.23 is a bit high but his strike rate (11.52) is simply sensational.

#1 Yuzvendra Chahal (19)

For the fourth week in a row, it is Yuzvendra Chahal who tops the bowling charts. Chahal added two more wickets to his name this week. He now has 19 wickets in 9 games. Chahal averages 13.68 (best on the list), his economy rate of 7.22 (again the best), and his strike rate of 11.36 (best!) are insane.
