Ab de Villiers confirms his return to IPL in 2023

One of the most loved foreign players in India, Ab de Villiers has announced his return for the IPL 2023, but in which capacity, he is yet to make a call on it. Lets look at Will Ab de Villiers play IPL 2023?

Ab, who was included in the RCB Hall of Fame a couple of days ago, has confirmed that he will be back with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for sure next year.

“I will definitely be around the IPL next year. I would love to return to my second hometown,” De Villiers. “I will be around RCB next year, I am missing it, don`t know in which capacity but I would like to visit my second home which is Chinnaswamy stadium — I am looking forward to it,” said De Villiers

The former captain of South Africa is among the icons of IPL, who played a huge role in building the cash-rich league popular among Indian audience for foreign players. His ability to play 360 degree shots across the stadium made him highly popular among local fans.

In November last year the star of RCB had announced his retirement from the Indian Premiere League. However, earlier this month, his close friend and former RCB captain Virat Kohli dropped a major hint on de Villiers and said that the star boy would be reuniting with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“I am glad to hear Virat Kohli confirmed it. To be honest, we haven’t decided on anything yet. I will definitely be around IPL next year. I am not sure in what capacity but I am missing getting back there,” De Villiers told VUSport.

“I have heard a little bird tweeting, saying that there might be some games in Bangalore. So I would love to return to my second hometown (Bangalore) and watch the full capacity stadium there at the Chinnaswamy again. I would love to return, I am looking forward to it,” he added.

He made his debut with Delhi Daredevils, but in 2011 RCB bought him at a whopping $1.1 million and since then he remained the part of RCB until 2021 when he announced his retirement. De Villiers scored 5162 runs in 184 matches in IPL at an average of 39.07. However,
