IPL 2023 CSK Retention: The commotion is over. Despite a developing rift between the two, Ravindra Jadeja plans to stay with Chennai Super Kings. However, Dwayne Bravo’s possible release could be the greatest news. The veteran from West Indies is allegedly on CSK’s release list. Adam Milne, who is prone to injuries, and Chris Jordan will also go.
The list of released players will also include retiring Robin Uthappa. Regarding retention, MS Dhoni will welcome his dependable skipper Deepak Chahar back after an injury kept him out of the IPL 2022.
IPL 2023 Auction: CSK and Jadeja A Complicated Story
The Yellow Army appointed Jadeja as its new captain before the IPL 2022, taking the place of the seasoned MS Dhoni. However, CSK struggled under his direction in the first stages of the competition as Jadeja resigned as captain before falling hurt and being forced to withdraw from the competition altogether.
In the ten games he has played thus far, he has only managed 116 runs and five wickets. Out of the 14 games CSK played throughout the IPL 2022 season, they only managed to win 4 games.
Since 2010, Jadeja has been a crucial member of the CSK team. The well-known all-rounder has frequently provided game-winning efforts for the Yellow Army in the past and was crucial to CSK’s championship victory. All of that changed, though, when Jadeja could have been asked to resign as captain in the IPL in 2022.
After Jadeja was unfollowed from the social media network by the official CSK Instagram account, the situation deteriorated further. Jadeja did not hold back either, taking down all of the CSK-related images and videos from his social media pages. He even stopped following CSK.
What to Expect from IPL 2023 CSK Retention
In his four games in the IPL 2023, Chris Jordan only managed to grab two wickets. In the first three games, he spent runs at an economy rate of 10+, which was incredibly expensive. Jordan only had two opportunities to bat and only managed to score runs in those two games. In the opening game of the IPL 2022, Adam Milne was disqualified from participation. Milne got a hamstring strain and was forced to leave the game against KKR after finishing his third over.
