Chetan Chauhan Has Also Been Tested Positive For COVID 19:
After suffering a renal failure, Chetan Chauhan, the former India opener featured in 40 tests and 7 ODIs, was placed on the ventilator. The 73-year-old had tested positive for Covid-19 in July and his health deteriorated this morning as he suffered multi-organ failure, which forced the former opening batsman to be put at a nearby Gurugram hospital for life support.
“This morning (15 August) early this morning, Chetan ji had a kidney failure and subsequently had multi-organ failure. He ‘s currently on life support. We ‘re all hoping he’ll win this fight,” a senior DDCA official who keeps track of the development told a leading sports website.
Chauhan was an perfect foil at the top of the order to Sunil Gavaskar in an international career lasting 12 years and the pair contributed more than 3000 test runs, thereby becoming one of India’s longest serving opening partnerships.
