In order to protect his broken wrist, Vihari came up to bat and took guard like a left-handed batter. He completely bandaged his left hand and used it to tap back deliveries nearly exclusively. By lunch, Vihari and No. 9 Lalith Mohan had added 26 runs in over ten overs, scoring the majority of the partnership’s runs as Andhra advanced to 379 for 9.
