Bangladesh Board on the Senior’s Decision

In order to be ready for the forthcoming home series against India. Which will include of three ODIs and two Test matches, BCB is hosting the BCL.

BCB’s cricket operations chairman said, “Yes, they (the trio representing the national team) will not be playing the BCL one-day version as they will be playing in the Abu Dhabi T10.”

“They will be arriving on November 30 to prepare for the upcoming home series against India. I think playing in foreign leagues will help them to get better in shorter format cricket. We feel the more they play in such leagues, the more they will learn,” he added.

BCL Schedule

The BCL final, a day-night event, will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on November 27. While the BCL one-day format matches will be played at BKSP on November 20, 22 and 24.

The BCB had originally planned to begin the tournament on November 26. But they decided to start it early because the players on the “A” squad will be competing against their Indian counterparts. Who will arrive on November 25 to play two four-day games.

No National Player Even for First Class Cricket

Following the 50-over competition, BCB had also intended to host the BCL’s first-class competition. But since no national players will be available, they have put the plan on hold for the time being.

One of the members of the selection panel explained that they want the national players to participate in the longer version of BCL, so they are planning to hold it when everyone is available and that is the reason they will be playing it at a suitable time rather than organizing it immediately after the 50-over BCL.

It is known that the aforementioned competition may take place following the conclusion of Bangladesh Premier League, the nation’s first franchise-based T20 competition, which is set to start on January 6.

Bangladesh next will prepare for India’s visit for Home series. The tour will include 3 ODIs followed by 2 Test Matches. In the light of this, the domestic long format matches look important.
