Invited to bat, South Africa after facing a humiliating defeat in the first test, were prepared to face Australia’s pace attack. But all-rounder Cameron Green came out of syllabus for them.

AUS vs SA 2nd Test: Warner smashes 100 in his 100th test

Australia continued to play in a dominant manner as they posted a mammoth 575 runs in their first innings.

It was a game to remember for the star opener David Warner, who was playing his 100th test. Warner made history by recording a century in his 100th test match. He then went to score 200 in no time. He, however had to walk back due to injury which he met during his celebration of double century.

Even before scoring 200 runs, Warner had been experiencing cramps. However, the way he marked the occasion appears to have made things worse. At first batter was also seen clutching his thighs and sought medical attention.

But eventually the southpaw was unable to continue and was forced to retire hurt.

Steve Smith scored 85, Travis Head 51, Cameron Green 51, and a hundred by Alex Carey guided Australia to 575 in their first innings.
