Ali Khan From USA Set To Feature In IPL For KKR

Ali Khan From The USA Is A Replacement For Seamer Harry Gurney:

Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to rope in Ali Khan, USA, to replace seaman Harry Gurney. 29-year-old Khan will be the first player in the IPL from the USA. Gurney, who pulled out of the IPL season and England’s Vitality Blast last month due to a shoulder injury, will be replaced.

Khan will be one of Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, Rahul Tripathi, Varun Chakravarthy, M Siddharth, Chris Gray, Tom Banton and Nikhil Naik as the new inclusions on the Dinesh Karthik side this season.

The fast bowler was part of the CPL 2020 champion Trinbago Knight Riders – the sister franchise of the IPL KKR. The lanky bowler was one of the best bowlers in the recently concluded season. He packed eight buckets at an economic cost of 7.43.

Known for his 140 km / h pace and perfect yorkers during the slog overs, Khan came into the T20 league scene in 2018 when he was picked up by Dwayne Bravo at the Global T20 Canada. Former Trinbago skipper took him to the CPL, where he managed to get 16 wickets in 12 games he played. Eventually, Khan also played for the Bangladesh Premier League and the Pakistan Super League.

Bravo, in one of his Instagram posts, shared a video with Khan, Brendon McCullum and a few more inside a plane with the title ‘Next Stop Dubai.

Ex Rajasthan Royals bowler Rusty Theron, now in the USA, was part of the now defunct Deccan Chargers squad in 2011 and Kings XI Punjab in 2010. But Theron, who was part of the Royals in 2015, moved from South Africa to the USA in 2019.
