Mental Health Is Of Utmost Importance During Lockdown: Ajinkya Rahane

India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane said on Friday that during the countrywide 21-day lockdown, imposed by the Center due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an individual needs to take care of his or her mental health.

Rahane Donates Money And Appeals Others To Come Forward And Donate:

Rahane, who had already donated Rs 10 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Relief Fund, praised the efforts of the Maharashtra government, Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Mpower, which launched an initiative to help people in this difficult time.

“Mental health is also critical during this lockdown. Highly appreciate the efforts of the Maharashtra Government, BMC & Mpower to build a free helpline to assist people for their mental well-being, @AUThackeray @mybmc @NeerjaBirla,” tweeted the stylish right handed Mumbai batsman.

Rahane asked fellow citizens of Mumbai to call on the helpline number 1800 120 820050 created for people in distress.

Even star batsman Rohit Sharma took the same initiative and advised the people on Twitter.

“Maharashtra Government, BMC and Mpower 1on1 have built a free helpline to assist you in this difficult time. Call 1800– to speak to a mental health professional. # LetsTalk1on1,” Sharma tweeted.

The country has seen more than 2,000 positive cases and 50 deaths due to COVID-19 so far.

During the lockdown period it has been seen that, the cricket players who were always seen in action on cricket field were at their creative best. Some players were seen trying their hands in kitchen, where some were exploring humorous side by making funny videos which they have been sharing with their fans on through their respective official social media handles.

The 13th edition of IPL 2020 was pushed to 15th April in the wake of the spread of coronavirus pandemic. In a recent media statement BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly said, that of at all the tournament took place, it would be a truncated affair after 15th April.
