In Under-19 India Appealed For Obstructing The Field Against Sam Fanning

On 28th January, In Potchefstroom, the first Quarter-Final of the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup between India and Australia had happened.

During the match, Australia’s opening batsman, Sam Fanning has tried to cover wickets during a run-out attempt and the Indian fielders appealed for a wicket of Sam Fanning.

Sam Fanning Tried To Stop The Ball:

This incident happened in eight over, the second ball, Sushant Mishra bowled to Fanning and he played a clean strike and he thought of pulling out a cheeky single. But the non-striker batsman said “NO”.

When the batsman was out of the crease, one of the Indian fielders tried for a direct hit to the wickets and in the action, the batsman has blocked the wickets and tried to stop the ball with his hand. For his action, all the Indian fielders appealed for a wicket.

After the incident, the on-Field umpire was not sure about his decision. And he took the help of the third umpire where he analyzed the video footage. After a number of video inspection, the 3rd umpire said his decision to the on-field umpire and he has softly signaled it as not-out.

In the first powerplay of the match, Australia has lost all its key batsman and the entire batting department was resting in the pavilion. This was the key point in India’s Victory over the Aussie’s.

In spite of Fanning, excellent knock of 75 in 127 balls which includes 7 fours and 3 sixes. They were unable to chase the target of 234 and they have to settle for a total of 159 in 43.3 overs.

Kartik Tyagi was awarded Man Of the Match for his excellent spell of 8-0-24-4.
