Hanuma Vihari’s Mother Built A Cricket Pitch For Him

In the Indian cricket team, Hanuma Vihari has made his place. He played his debut match at the most difficult times on the tour of England in 2018 and also featured in the Test series for the national team. He has aroused a lot of people with his dedication, and it feels like he can go to a higher level. But, success does not come without any sacrifice, and that the thing the mother of the victor has done.
Since childhood, Vihari has destined to play for India. When he was just 12 years old, the cricketer’s father Satyanarayana, passed away. But his mother did not stop him and encourage him to pursue his dreams.
In an interview, Hanuma Vihari reveals the stories of his early life and how his mother helped him to top it. ” Most importantly, one thing that defines my mother is her courageous attitude. She is never afraid. You can say this is a hallmark of her identity,” he said.

It was my responsibility, says Hanuma Vihari’s mother

Vijayalakshi recalls the days of her husband’s dismissal, while Hanuma Vihari faced a downturn in U13 cricket. It was here that she realized that her son needed more time to practice and become better, and she built a cricket pitch for him from the money she received from her husband’s company.

Moreover, Vijayalakshmi (Vihari’s mother) feels that supporting her son is her responsibility, and she never feels it is a sacrifice. The next time Hanuma Vihari played at the U13 state level, he topped the competition charts.

“I received a large sum of money after the death of my husband. At that time, Hanuma played under-13 cricket and did not perform well. I knew that he required more time to practice cricket than getting into the nets.

The next time, when he played at the Under-13 state level, he scored the highest run in the tournament. I know my efforts have paid off,” said Hanuma Vihari’s mother. Vihari has played nine Tests for India so far, scoring 552 runs at an average of close to 37.
