Yadav And Kishan Looks Short In Form And Confidence: Agarkar

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, the two-star batsmen of Mumbai Indians are finding some tough time in scoring runs for their franchise. Both the batsmen have failed to play a good knock in their last games. The duo’s diminishing results have increased the burden on the likes of Keiron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, and Saurabh Tiwary to make runs lower order and help the team towards victory. This article is about what Agarkar Speaks On Yadav And Kishan.

But the greater concern for Team India is Kishan and Yadav’s run drought has happened shortly before the T20 World Cup. The BCCI selection committee has nominated the pair to the 15-man team, and such dismal performances must be impacting the thoughts of the management and selectors.

Suryakumar needs to spend some time on the pitch: Agarkar

Former cricketer turned analyst, Ajit Agarkar believes Yadav and Ishan Kishan’s consistency must be a risk for Team India in the run-up to the T20 World Cup. The former India quick bowler was also shocked by Yadav’s lack of confidence during the IPL’s UAE leg.

“It was nothing shot from Suryakumar Yadav (when he got out). Everyone goes through bad patches. But you still want to try and bat a few balls. Just look so short of confidence, Suryakumar Yadav at the moment. This must be a worry for them. He needs to spend some time on the pitch,” Agarkar said.

“If you bat a certain number of balls, and if you have the ability, the rhythm might come back. Today was a great chance because the other pitches have been a lot tougher. So, it is certainly a little bit of worry because he has looked way short of form and confidence,” he added.

Kishan and Yadav will not be dropped at this stage: Agarkar

Even though the ICC has allowed teams till October 10 to make changes to their squads, it appears like Kishan and Yadav will not be dropped at this stage. However, Agarkar feels that the pair’s poor streak may start worrying the management. In Kishan’s unavailability, Tiwary seized his opportunity and scored a vital 45 runs.

“Suryakumar has been in so good in form for India, and in past few IPLs, it’s just surprising how short he has looked in form and confidence. Ishan Kishan was also, rightly left out in my opinion by MI. Yes, he has been part of the Indian team, but Saurabh Tiwary has looked good. And Mumbai had to win this game”.

“So they needed a couple of players in good form because Mumbai’s middle-order has looked quite fragile. But it is certainly a little bit of worry for India because they have invested in these two guys, and at this point, they do not look great,” Agarkar signed off.
