Who will lead team India in ICC T20 WC 2024

It’s the year of the T20 World Cup, and as usual, team India’s supporters are incredibly excited. Who will captain India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, however, was the most pressing question on every fan’s mind.

Although Rohit Sharma is currently India’s regular all-format designated captain, there have recently been many doubts over his future in Twenty20 Internationals due to his little involvement in the game’s shortest format. The disaster at the consecutive ICC events also made it more difficult to find a different captain than him.

The discussion started last year when India was eliminated from the World Cup 2022 finals and Rohit missed a significant number of Twenty20 matches for the whole year.

Rohit Sharma’s India recently lost the ODI World Cup final, and there has been renewed talk that he may not play and captain the squad in the T20 World Cup the following year.

However, going as per his records, Rohit Sharma’s T20 cricket career has been remarkable. Because of his unique batting style and tendency for big innings, he’s been dubbed the “Hitman.”

He is a formidable weapon in the game’s shortest format because of his capacity to anchor an innings or unleash a torrent of boundaries at will.

The record that Sharma has as a captain is unquestionable. His time as captain of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been filled with glory, including multiple titles.

However, in terms of international competition, he has only been able to help India win two Asia Cup trophies. India has also lost in the T20 World Cup, World Test Championship, and ODI World Cup thus far, though they have advanced to the semifinals, final, and championship rounds in each of these three competitions.

The most well-known prospective to lead India after him, Hardik Pandya, is still recovering from an injury, so the selectors have not yet decided on his actual deputy. However, Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in the Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan is a clear indication that the selectors want him to lead India in the Twenty20 World Cup in 2024, which is scheduled to played in June.
