BBL THU vs HEA Match Highlights: Sydney Thunder crush Brisbane Heat by 10 wickets

THU vs HEA Match Highlights: Sydney Thunder claimed a comfortable victory after crushing the Brisbane Heat side to record a 10-wicket win at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Tuesday.

It was an easy deal for the Sydney Thunder’s side, however, given their previous performance, one can say that Brisbane Heat may have some chances. But, that 15 all-out incident was for one time only, as Thunder’s made no mistake and went on to win the game in a comprehensive manner.

Earlier, Colin Munro scored the highest runs for his side with 43 off 47, while no other batter was able to cross even the 30-run mark

Opted to bat, Brisbane lost their top 3 batters under the score of 30, with Heat were in trouble, skipper Jimmy Peirson and Colin Munro steadied their boat by adding 51 for the fourth wicket before Peirson left the crease after scoring 27 off 24.

Strike-rate was also not with Heat’s side, as at the time they lost Munro’s wicket they were only at 86 in 15.5 overs, with Neser gone for duck made the things worse for the last standing side.

Xavier Bartlett’s push at the end with 28 off 17 helped the side, however, to post 121 on board in 20 overs.

In reply, both Thunders’ openers took no time and made the job done inside 12 overs.

Matthew Gilkes played a knock of 56 not out of 34, while Alex Hales remained unbeaten for 59 in 36 deliveries.

Gilkes took the aerial root 3 times in his innings apart from 6 fours, while Hales struck 10 fours during his knock.

The knock helped Hales to move upto third place in the list of highest run-scorer in the series with 159 runs in 5 games at an average of 39.75 and a strike rate of 141.96.

The wicketkeeper batter later honoured with the player of the match title for his impeccable knock of 56 in 34 balls.

This is the second win for the Thunders this season in five games.

With this win, Sydney Thunder moved to fifth spot at the points table with 4 points.

There is a chance ahead for the Brisbane Heat side to take revenge as both teams will once again face each other this week at the Carrara Oval in Queensland on Thursday.
