Axar Patel, an Indian cricketer turns 29 today. Axar was born in Nadiad, Gujarat, India, on January 20, 1994. And he goes by the full name Axar Rajeshbhai Patel.  Axar bating style is lifting-handed striking. And orthodox slow left-arm bowling. Axar is a domestic cricket player representing Gujarat who represents India at the international level. In the Indian Premier League, he plays for the Delhi Capitals. He played his first ODI game on June 15, 2014.

Dream Debut of Axar Patel in 2021

Patel delivered his best performance against England in the year 2021 during his first Test series, leaving nothing to chance. Axar recorded his third 5-wicket haul in a Test match on Day 1 of the third match, taking 6 wickets for 38 runs. On Day 2, Patel maintained his composure and snatched another wicket in the same match, giving him a total of 11 wickets for the match.

Axar performed at his best throughout those two days, and he joined R. Ashwin as the second Indian spinner to claim a wicket on the opening day of the test match.

Domestic Career of Axar Patel

Patel collected 6 for 55 in the first innings of his second first-class game against Delhi in November 2013. He had never previously taken five wickets. Patel only appeared in one first-class game for Gujarat in his inaugural season, but he performed better in 2013. 

The left-arm spinner, who was predominantly a bowling all-rounder, signed his maiden IPL deal with Mumbai Indians prior to the 2013 IPL, but he spent the entire season on the sidelines.

With seven wickets, including a four-for against UAE in the semi-final, he was one of the major factors in the 2013 ACC Emerging Teams Cup championship victory by India Under-23s. 

He was included in the India Red team’s roster for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August of that year. He was included on India C’s roster for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019.

ODI Debut for Axar Patel

Patel got a spot in the Indian ODI team for the trip to Bangladesh for his outstanding play in the 2014 IPL. He made his ODI debut in the first game of the series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and took 1/59 runs. He was one of the 15 players on India’s World Cup team in 2015.
