Sri Lanka Announces T20 Squad Against India – India vs Sri Lanka 2022 Tour

The Sri Lankan Board has named the team that will tackle India in the forthcoming T20I series, which begins on February 24th in Lucknow. Here we have mentioned the information about Sri Lanka T20 Squad Against India 2022.

Sri Lanka’s current T20I captain, Dasun Shanaka will captain the 18-man team against India, alongside Charith Asalanka chosen as his deputy. In addition, 3 former members of the team, Avishka Fernando, Ramesh Mendis, and Nuwan Thushara, are also included in Sri Lanka’s visiting team for the recently completed T20I series versus Australia, now will not be heading to India due to injuries.

Wanindu Hasaranga, who already had skipped the previous 3 T20Is due to a COVID positive result, will rejoin the team, alongside uncapped spin bowler Ashian Daniel also been called up, however, it will be depending on ministerial permission.

Sri Lanka finished 2nd in 4 of their 5 T20 matches in the 5-match series in Australia. Despite losing the series 1-4, Sri Lanka will be returning with a depth of knowledge about Australian conditions in advance of this year’s World T20, which is also scheduled to be staged in Australia.

Sri Lanka’s visit to India will be featuring 3 Twenty20 Internationals and 2 Tests. Despite Sri Lanka is arriving with a disappointing campaign, India will be making headlines after a 3-0 sweep of the West Indies in the T20I series.
