Sourav Ganguly is set to be replaced as BCCI President by Roger Binny: Ravi Shastri Reacted

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri liked the idea of replacing Sourav Ganguli with Roger Binny as the BCCI president. Binny also played 83’ world cup and Shastri has a connection as a teammate.

As the president of the Board of Control for Cricket Saurav Ganguly’s journey is taking an end. Who took up the responsibility in 2019? Roger Binny the former Cricketer who was also part of the 83’ winning squad of the world cup. Roger is predicted to be the best fit for the position. Although the Official announcements are to be made by the Board.

While Ravi Shastri Former Indian coach is delighted by the change. He also praised Roger’s side in a positive manner saying, He was my Colleague in the World Cup. There is continuity here because he was the president of the Karnataka State Cricket Board. Now he is moving up to be the President of BCCI.

“I am very happy that a World Cup winner will be the president for the first time in the history of BCCI”

Binny is nominated for the President of BCCI but it is not yet clear that Saurav Ganguly will get another post in the board or not. As Ganguly was keen to serve the Board but he did not the support he expected by the Board members. As Shastri also said there is nothing permanent you can do certain thing for a long period of time and hence you have to serve and move on.

Something I am doing today I cannot do the same work for three years from now. There will be new people coming in the way and new people taking over. And it is a healthy trait.

Shastri feels that Binny who served for the Karnataka Cricket Board before, and has all the credentials required to hold the office. He got his all the boxes ticked to become the BCCI President.

Being a cricketer himself, he will ensure that the interest of cricketers is the priority not the A tier that will sustain itself, But the also the grassroot level. Primarily, Domestic cricket is given a lot of attention but more attention can be given.

He is a very agreeable guy also he has got his mind of his own and he might not be flippant type. He will be definitely be heard especially on cricketing matters.

On speaking about the new BCCI president shastri conclude things needed to be improved with the new president. The stadium’s infrastructure and the Ground conditions should be up lifted.
