Katich apparently disapproved of several of the team’s decisions, and it is also suspected that Katich departed since the SRH team decided to resign Aussie player David Warner.

SRH have had a dismal season in the IPL 2021

The Hyderabad team had a dismal season in the 2021 IPL. The ‘Orange Army’ placed bottom in the points standings, having won only 3 of the 14 games they competed throughout the season.

Furthermore, the method they handled David Warner during the tournament drew a lot of attention.  David Warner was removed as skipper midway through the competition and was also pulled out from the SRH’s XI.

The SRH franchise paid Rs 10.75 cr in the 2022 IPL auction to get the expertise of Nicholas Pooran. Hyderabad also bought under the hammer Rs 8.75 cr to get Washington Sundar. In addition, SRH also added  Romario Shepherd, T Natarajan, Aiden Markram, Sean Abbott, Marco Jansen, Glenn Phillips, and Rahul Tripathi to the lineup.

The SRH team has retained 3 players prior to the IPL giant auction. Kane Williamson, Umran Malik, and Abdul Samad are the 3 retained list of players. Whilst Williamson would be given a massive Rs 14 crore, Malik and Samad will each be given Rs 4 crore as the duo are uncapped players.
