Rohit Sharma Says Yuvraj Was His Cricket Crush

Indian big-hitting opening batsman Rohit Sharma revealed that former star player Yuvraj Singh was his cricket crush when he came into the team and wanted to play like him and prepare like him.

Rohit Sharma Says That He Always Wanted To Play And Train Like Yuvraj Singh

Sharma said this during an online video chat with Yuvraj Singh. He spoke to Yuvraj on Instagram live session on Tuesday.

He said,” When I came into the team, my cricket crush was Yuvraj Singh. I always wanted to talk to Yuvraj Singh, I always wanted to see how he prepares and what he does.”

Rohit Sharma and the former all-rounder discussed various topics during their conversation. When Rohit Sharma asked Yuvraj what is the difference between his generation of players and the current generation, Yuvraj was critical about the attitude of the young players.

He replied that there is a lack of respect for seniors now and anyone can say anything to anyone but it was not like this when he came into the team.

He said when he came into the team or when Rohit Sharma came into the team the seniors were disciplined and they used to carry themselves with certain behaviour like the way they talked to the media or when they talked to others.

“When I came into the team or when you (Rohit) came into the team, our seniors were very disciplined. Obviously there were no social media so there were no distractions,” said Yuvraj.

“There was a certain behavior that we boys had to carry, how they talk to people, how they talk to media. Because they were the ambassadors of the game and India.”

Yuvraj Says That After Playing For India One Should Be Careful about One’s Image

He also told Rohit Sharma that after playing for India anyone should be careful about their image and he also felt respect towards seniors has become thin now.

“I just feel there are very fewer guys to look up to and I feel that a sense of respect towards seniors, that has become a thin line now. Koi bhee kisiko kuch bhee keh deta hain (anyone can say anything to anyone,” added Yuvraj.
