Perth Scorchers won the toss and decided to bowl first, Brisbane Heat begin asked to bat first, and in came D Wyatt and Redmayne to start off the innings in an incredible fashion where both the batsman got off to a good start and made sure they score as many runs as possible in the powerplay overs.

Brisbane Heat scored 41 runs in the first six overs of the match and they did not lose a single wicket. Brisbane was going at a good pace but after the wicket of Grace Harris in the 12th over things started changing in the favor of Perth Scorchers.
