The left-arm pacer made his last international appearance in august 2020 during the T20I against England. A few months later, He has announced his international retirement and made himself unavailable for the selection. However, Amir had insisted at that time he would be available for consideration, but PCB management ends its tenure.

It has been over a year since the change in management. But Amir is yet to make a return to the side.
