The Series Has Some Questions On The Bowling Of Jasprit Bumrah:
In the India Vs New Zealand ODI series, India suffered from a 3-0 defeat. This is the first time in 31 years since India has lost all the ODI series. The series has made some question marks before Kohli and his team. One of those includes Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling.
In the New Zealand ODI series Bumrah, the Indian bowler failed to get a single wicket in 3 matches. This is the first time in the ODI series that Bumrah has returned with empty hands. He was very confident with his bowling but failed to get wickets which allowed the New Zealand team to chase high totals in both first as well as third ODI matches.
Bumrah bowled 30 overs in the series and gave away 167 runs at a 5.56 economy rate. But he did not pick even a single wicket. Apart from Indian young bowler Navdeep Saini and New Zealand bowler Mitchell Santner, Bumrah is the only third bowler who did not get a single wicket in the whole series.
Kohli Blammed the Fielding:
After the series loss, Kohli blamed the weak fielding for India’s defeat in the series: “I think the first match of this series, we were in the tournament. But in all three games, our fielding was very poor, which is not at all acceptable for international cricket. The way we returned was a positive point for us. But in the field, we were failed. We played truly well in the T20 series, but here in the ODIs, two or three new players were added and it was a great experience for them,” he said. But, Bumrah’s bowling in the ODIs is becoming a subjet of worry for team India.
New Zealand and India will play two test series from 21st February. Kohli and the Indian team will hope that the Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah comes back to his best with the red ball.
