Hardik Pandya Returning To Red Back Cricket After Almost 3 Years
Hardik Pandya was last seen in Test matches long back in August 2018 vs England. Hardik Pandya has played 11 Test matches for India as an all-rounder where he managed to take 17 wickets and scored 532 runs with an average of 31. India already have fewer all-rounder options against England with Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin recovering from their respective injury. The 27-year-old has showcased his prowess across formats with match-winning performances. Having finally made his much-anticipated return to the national side in white-ball cricket during the Australia series, the player is gearing up for his Test return as well.
Virat Kohli had made it clear that is essential for the all-rounder player to resume his bowling in-order to play in the longer format. It remains to be seen if Hardik Pandya is included in the opening Test match at Chennai, as with the ICC T20 World Cup coming up, the team management will look to manage the cricketer’s workload efficiently.
