Dominating performance by Australia
After a dominating performance by Australia in the first One Day International that was held in Mumbai, Team India will be feeling the heat and pressure of coming back into the game again and will be looking to keep themselves alive in the series as they prepare for the second game to be held in Rajkot on Friday.
Australian team beat India by 10 wickets chasing a target of 256 with both Aaron Finch and David Warner smashing hundreds. And the mighty Aussies now have a huge chance of winning their 2nd consecutive ODI series in India.
Team India’s struggle in the series
It’s now Team India who has to struggle to move ahead in the rest of the series. The biggest problem for them now is Virat Kohli‘s batting position.
The captain batted in the 4th position to fit in Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul in Mumbai. But the plan didn’t go well exactly, and Kohli stated that he might rethink the strategy.
Rishabh Pant is going to be unavailable owing to concussion and in the absence of him, KL Rahul will be given the wicket-keeping duty. And include Shikhar Dhawan who made 74 in the last match in Mumbai. Hence, now it might be compulsory for Kohli to bat at number 4 once again unless India asks Rahul to do that job.
Upcoming strategies of Team India
Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav will now both play in the absence of Rishabh Pant in the upcoming match. Indian bowlers battled a lot in Mumbai’s match and will look forward to some help from the sixth bowler.
They also have to decide between Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini. Yuzvendra Chahal’s wrist spin, as well as Saini’s pace, maybe a good option for the upcoming match.
