New Zealand Wicketkeeper’s Slide to Kick Away Ball and Save Boundary

Devon Conway, the New Zealand wicketkeeper, ran behind and covered a lot of ground before kicking the ball away with his left foot inches inside the boundary rope.

On Saturday, New Zealand wicketkeeper Devon Conway made an incredible save while fielding the ball in a T20I match against Pakistan in Christchurch. Conway used his football skills to deny Pakistan a boundary in a tri-series game that also included Bangladesh. Shadab Khan beat Tim Southee with a scoop shot. Shadab’s connection between bat and ball was poor, giving Conway an opportunity to run behind and attempt a save.

Another fielder, Ish Sodhi, was also running towards the ball from fine leg, but Conway beat him to the ball. The wicketkeeper slid down the pitch before kicking the ball away with his left foot just inside the boundary rope.

Talking about the tri-series game, Pakistan went on to beat New Zealand by 6 wickets.

Babar Azam rode his luck to 79 not out off 53 balls as his team took command of the series after a 21-run victory over Bangladesh on Friday. The week-long tournament at Hagley Oval is being used by all three teams to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

New Zealand’s 147 for 8 after winning the toss appeared insufficient, and Babar’s knock eliminated any chance of victory, guiding the tourists to 149 for 4 with 10 balls to spare.

Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim Junior also played for Pakistan. Rauf took three wickets for 28 runs in four overs, while Wasim took two wickets for 20 runs.
