India Capitals beat Gujarat Giants by 6 wickets

India Capitals registered their second win of the tournament after defeating Gujarat Giants by 6 wickets in the seventh match of the second edition of Legends League Cricket.

Solomon Mire and Hamilton Masakadza starred in India Capitals chase as the team managed to win the match with 7 balls to spare.

Earlier, Gujarat Giants skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan played a solid knock of unbeaten 75 off 59 to help his side cross 150-mark.

Invited to bat, Gujarat Giants made a strong start as their openers added 47 for the first wicket.

But as soon as they lost their in-form batter Kevin O Brien for 23, the team faced a sudden collapse. As the team lose half of their side in the span of just 10 runs.

India’s T20 World Cup final hero, Joginder Sharma, made an 11 contribution for the side before getting bowled by Plunkett.

The skipper Dilshan, however, continued his steady approach and played a magnificent knock of 75 in just 59. His knock included nine four and a six.

Swann was handy too with the bat. His contribution of 60-run with Dilshan was crucial in setting a decent total for India Capitals.

In reply, Solomon Mire provided India Capitals a blistering start by smashing the ball every corner of the stadium.

Gautam Gambhir walked back to pavilion after failed to Appanna, the first ball of the fifth over.

Capitals were looking comfortable in the chase after putting 69 on board in 7 overs. Swann then removed the dangerous Mire for 41. But, before he walked back he made sure a good platform for his side. His knock of 41 off 23 was enough to provide Capitals advantage in the game.

Hamilton Masakadza then did the remaining work by smashing 50 off 34 with the help of seven fours and a maximum.

Rajat Bhatia and Ashley Nurse both scored unbeaten elevens in the end to drive the side over the finishing line with 7 balls to spare.
