Legends League Cricket: Disney Star acquires broadcast rights for second edition of Legends League

Disney Star acquires Legends League broadcast rights

Disney Star will broadcast the second season of Legends League Cricket in India, which takes place from September 16 to October 5, 2022. Let us look in detail at Legends League Cricket Broadcast Rights.

Disney Star has been named the official tournament broadcaster, and all 16 games will be televised live and exclusively on the Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar.

This time, the event will have a total of 4 teams. They are the Bhilwara Kings, Manipal Tigers, Gujarat Giants, and India Capitals.

Gautam Gambhir will serve as the captain of the India capitals, while Virender Sehwag has been selected captain of the Gujarat Giants. Harbhajan Singh will captain the Manipal Tigers, while Irfan Pathan will captain the Bhilwara Kings.

According to a press release, the tournament will feature numerous former players from around the globe who will thrill spectators with competitive cricket.

We have India’s best Sports broadcaster showcasing the Legends League and the finest Sports Commentators and Analysts will be bringing forth the matches to innumerable cricket fans across the country. Am really happy that the best and finest in the business of Cricket are stakeholders in our journey,” said Raman Raheja, CEO and Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket.

On acquiring the broadcast rights of Legends League Cricket, a Disney Star spokesperson said, “We are delighted to associate with the Legends League Cricket for Season 2. Disney Star is home to the best of cricket properties, providing fans with memorable moments to cherish. We look forward to elevate the experience of Legends Cricket League through our unique brand of story-telling, and programming.”

Additionally, all International Cricket Council (ICC) cricket matches will be broadcast on television and online by Disney Star, a Walt Disney Group company, for the next four years. The rights are applicable to both international men’s and women’s competitions through the end of 2027. Disney won the proposal after one round of bidding, according to a press statement released by the International Cricket Council.
