WI vs PNG Match Highlights: A wonderful evening of cricket comes to an end as the second host of this T20 World Cup West Indies cruised past to victory with 5 wickets. Papua New Guinea gave a tough fight with the bat and then the ball too but it was too much for them as newcomers to this game of cricket they will be proud of their performance here in Guyana.

West Indies after winning the toss decided to bat first and Papua New Guinea played more of a composed cricket where they managed to score 136 in 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Alzarri Joseph and Andre Russell were the stars with the ball as they both picked up two wickets each.

A New Era for Papua New Guinea

The world today saw a fighting team that never gave up in this game where they gave a tough fight for the champions. Even though they did not have enough on board they managed to have a couple of good knocks in the form of Sese Bau who scored his first fifty for Papua New Guinea in T20 World Cups.

Sese Bau along with a cameos of Kiplin Doriga and Assad Vala guided the PNG score to 136 how ever in the chase they made it difficult for West Indies but in the end, West Indies overpowered the PNG side.

West Indies in this Chase felt like Losing

West Indies lost an early wicket in the form of Johnson Charles but Brandon King (34) and Nicholas Pooran (27) gave West Indies a good start for the home side in this case. While mainly it was Roston Chase who guided West Indies to their first win of this World Cup.

Roston Chase scored an unbeaten 42 off 27 balls which helped the West Indies cross the line. Even with the ball, he bowled nicely where in his four overs he gave away just 26 runs. For this combined effort Roston Chase won the player of the match.

This was a wonderful game of cricket where the PNG had their share of success but in the end, it was West Indies who won the game with good batting. Now West Indies has two points in this group of death, while Papua New Guinea will be hoping to play the rest of the World Cup wonderfully.
