‘I’m Trying To Prove Myself And Give The Best Until Next Years World Cup’: Imran Tahir

There aren’t many cricketers that are still playing at the age of 42. This is simply due to the fact that the sport has grown and become so demanding that continuing a career after 40 is extremely impossible. The experienced leg-spinner is presently playing in the Pakistan Super League and has indicated an interest in representing South Africa in the next T20 World Cup. let’s discuss Imran Tahir Speaks On Up Comming World Cup.

When asked if he was ready to play for South Africa in the next T20 World Cup, the leggie answered that he was even ready to participate in the following year’s competition.

‘I want to play if it is the upcoming World Cup or the Next – Imran Tahir

The South African player, who was born in Pakistan, stated that he intends to continue playing cricket as long as he enjoys it. Tahir declared his retirement from one-day international cricket at the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup, although he continued to play franchise cricket throughout the world. “So as long as I am enjoying it, I want to play if it is the upcoming World Cup or the next World Cup,” Tahir said in an interview.

He also stated that he was a member of the South Africa team that was set to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup, which was set to take place in Australia last year but was suspended due to the pandemic. “If I am playing in the PSL, I want to perform well. I haven’t retired as well. I was a member of South Africa’s squad for the World Cup last year, which didn’t happen because of COVID last year. So I was part of the squad which was to play in the World Cup. But now I’m trying to prove myself and perform in the PSL,” Tahir said.

Tahir also stated that he is excited to do well in the PSL because he feels that if he does well, it would put pressure on South African selectors. Tahir has not participated in an international match since announcing his ODI retirement in mid-2019. South Africa has been identifying fresh talent and providing them greater opportunities.
