Pace bowler Hasan Ali believes Pakistan has the ability to beat the greatest teams on their day. The 27-year-old voiced his thoughts ahead of the Men in Green’s effort in the 2021 T20 World Cup, which begins on October 17 in the UAE and Oman. Hasan Ali is currently representing Central Punjab in the National T20 Cup.
The quick has 11 wickets in 8 games, with the best statistics of 4/24 versus Southern Punjab at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Pakistan hasn’t won a multi-nation event since the 2017 Champions Trophy, but the fast bowler is confident regarding his team’s performance in the World Cup.
“We [Pakistan] have a good combination and ability to beat any team in the world. I have full faith in my team that we will give 100 percent. I don’t claim that we will come back with the trophy because the results are not in our hands. What we have in our hands is the effort we can put in and we can ensure we will give a fair fight in every game,” said Hasan.
We can’t afford to take the first two games with India and New Zealand lightly: Hasan Ali
Pakistan will face India in the T20 World Cup Super 12s in Dubai, followed by Kiwis in Abu Dhabi. Both matches have been the subject of discussion for a number of reasons. In the middle of the controversy, Hasan stated that Pakistan cannot afford to be careless.
“Obviously a lot of hype has already been created about our first two games with India and New Zealand. We don’t have any room to get complacent and we can’t afford to take these matches lightly”.
“We will go all prepared from the first game and obviously when you go on with the win from the opening game it boosts your confidence. Pressure is there but we all are professional and we know how to deal with it,” he added.
Pakistan has already been through a difficult period with the cancellations of their consecutive tours by New Zealand and England. Pakistan’s cricketers competed in the National T20 Cup to prepare for the 2021 T20 World Cup.
