Andre Russell, West Indies’ hard-hitting all-rounder finds it hard enough to spend his time in lockdown without his wife Jassym Lora and newborn daughter Amaziah. The 32-year-old recently revealed that as soon as those travel restrictions are lifted, he wants to meet them.
In the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the West Indies all-rounder was all set to play for Kolkata Knight Riders. But the BCCI has to postpone this tournament indefinitely in spite of the troubling conditions that are not appropriate for any form of cricket series or tournament.
Andre Russell said in a recent interaction that his wife and newborn daughter are in Miami. The seaming all-rounder added that he’s still in touch with them. He can’t do anything because of the travel restrictions. It is understood that when the government placed limits on international travel, his wife and daughter were in Florida at the time, so they couldn’t afford to return to their homeland.
“They are both in Miami, she [his daughter] and Jassym. I am keeping in touch with them and speaking to them. I wish I could get them here but we can not do anything with all these travel restrictions, “Russell said in an interview with TV presenter Sanjana Ganesan.

The 33-year-old recited that no one wants to go through these circumstances that have a huge effect on people’s lives across the globe. He’s still optimistic that things will return to normal in a month or two. “It is not always a situation in which anyone would want to be. This affects the world and it affects me and stops me from hitting sixes. I hope in a month or two this thing calms down, and we can go back to normal life again, “he added.
Andre Russell also said that he is eager to feel the excitement of meeting the Eden Gardens crowd once again in the IPL that is postponed by the BCCI, “When I go out [there] to face the ball, the welcome I get is love, and yes, it puts pressure on me also. But it’s a nice kind of pressure, “he added.
