Virat Kohli’s fake throw Controversy, What was the case : ICC T20 World Cup

The Incident that Nurul was referring to happened in the seventh over. A video recording showed that Arshdeep threw the ball from the deep and Kohli at the point. He made it that way as if he was relaying it at the non-striker’s end.

On this Nurul Hassan has an allegation that Virat Kohli has misguided and did a fake fielding action to distract the Batters. Also added that throw can get them five potentially match-winning runs which they did not get.

The ICC playing conditions rule 41.5, which pertains to unfair play. Prohibits the fielding team from “deliberate, distraction, deception or obstruction of the batter”.

If the umpire finds anyone has breached the rule. He can call it a dead ball and award 5 penalty runs.
