The Indian Star opener is reportedly set to miss the series against Sri Lanka as he is set to tie the knot with the popular Bollywood actor’s daughter Athiya Shetty. The 30-year-old opener had trouble getting going during the recently finished 2022 T20 World Cup, where he scored 128 runs in six innings with a 120.75 strike rate. He managed to get two fifties, but his defensive strategy has drawn a lot of runs.

Long Lasting Relationship

Since they’ve been dating for three years, the couple is finally ready to move their relationship forward. Prior to the Bangladesh trip, it was previously believed that the couple would wed in December. However, that possibility swiftly vanished.

Athiya’s father, veteran actor Suniel Shetty, recently announced that the couple is looking for soon dates and that a wedding will take place soon.

According to reports, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been dating for close to three years. They allegedly connected through a mutual buddy. The two then began having more frequent encounters and started to fall in love. However, the couple formally announced their union last year on Athiya’s birthday.

Suniel Shetty’s Earlier Comments

Although Athiya’s father and seasoned actor Suniel Shetty have already stated that the wedding will take place.  When they have the time from their respective jobs, the couple has yet to make an official announcement about the union.

Big Players getting Rest after the World Cup

Along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, he had previously been rested for the New Zealand tour, but the graceful right-hander is back in the lineup for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh beginning on December 4. He is also included in the squad for the two-match Test series beginning on December 14.

In December and January, India will host Sri Lanka for three ODIs and as many T20I games. Rahul is most likely going to miss the entire series if the rumor’s are accurate.
