Josh “The Kingslayer” Hazlewood Has Picked Up Virat Kohli’s Wicket in 4 Consecutive ODIs; Watch

Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored a decent 63 runs off 78 balls in India’s win against Australia in the 3rd ODI on December 2. India crawled their way to score 302 runs, credits to Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya’s solid partnership. Virat Kohli was looking in fine touch as he completed his 12,000 ODI run mark but was picked by Josh Hazlewood before the RCB gaffer could hurt the Australians more. Interestingly, Josh Hazlewood has got the better of Kohli four-time in a row.

Virat Kohli’s struggles against Josh Hazlewood

Virat Kohli, who is tipped as one of the best batsmen, has fallen in front of Josh Hazlewood back-to-back four times in an ODI clash, including the first two in the on-going India tour of Australia. The 29-year-old pacer also pocketed Virat Kohli earlier this year in January. This is some feat for the Australian to clinch the wicket of “King Kohli” on a spree.

However, the 32-year-old Indian skipper inflicted enough damage in the said four innings before Hazlewood came to Aussie’s rescue. Virat Kohli scored three half-centuries in the four innings and registered a total of 252 runs in an average of 63.

Virat Kohli recently became the fastest batsman to score 12,000 ODI runs. He achieved this feat in 242 innings. Virat Kohli has a total of 12,040 runs in 251 ODIs in an average of 59.31. Virat Kohli listed his 60th ODI century with his 63 runs knock against Australia in the 3rd ODI.

In the second ODI, Virat Kohli scored 89 runs in 87 balls against Australia which led to completing his 22000 runs, adding one feather to his cap. When Kohli scored his 78th run of the match, he surpassed the great Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest to 22000 international runs.

Kohli achieved the feat in just 462 innings. Tendulkar had taken 493 innings, 31 innings more to reach the milestone in international cricket. Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting took 511 and 514 innings respectively following the two Indian superstars.
