It could be Joe Root’s last-ever Ashes – Nathan Hauritz

Former Australian cricketer Nathan Hauritz has opined that this could be the last Ashes series for the current England Test captain Joe Root. The ashes series is all set to start in December, and England has lost the previous Ashes series under the captainship of Root. It could be Joe Root’s ashes. Here in this article, we talk about Joe Root’s ashes.

In a recent interview, Nathan Hauritz said – “I don’t see all of the England Tests, but I have seen Ashes Tests and there are different tactics where you wonder what he is thinking or doing. I think personally Joe Root should play a game of throwing caution to the wind. It could be his last ever Ashes series. He is going to have Buttler and Stokes back so those three batters should take on full responsibility,”

And coming to the Australian setup, Nathan feels that the current standing Australian skipper Tim Paine is the right person to lead the side. Tim Paine had to face a lot of criticism after the loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.

Nathan was impressed by the way Paine lead the Australian side even after the sandpaper Gate. He believes that Time Paine has done a pretty fantastic job and expressed that he needs a chance to lead the Ashes this year.

Speaking about Tim Paine Nathan Hauritz said – “I do think he (Paine) is the right man to lead Australia into the Ashes. He did an incredible job when he came on board and he has led that team outstandingly. I think the opportunity after the Ashes is for someone like Marnus or someone coming through pinpointed to lead the team. Paine is a world-class keeper and a very good captain and batsman. So I don’t see Australia making any change before the Ashes,”

Team England is in full preparation for the upcoming Ashes and they will look to see the India Test Series as preparation for it.
