Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians are playing the 44th match of IPL 2022 and it is going great! Mumbai has won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan batting first scored 73 for 2 at the end of 10 overs. In the last 5 overs, the team managed to score 36 runs losing 1 wicket.
During the first six overs, Devdutt Padikkal did try to get off a good start and change his luck of getting out early but after a few hits, he failed. This got the captain out to the middle. Jos Buttler and Sanju continued the innings to bring some runs on the scoreboard. The team scored 40 runs during the powerplay overs.
Hrithik Shokeen got Mumbai a much-required breakthrough by getting Padikkal out, who was looking good, in the 4th over.
Meredith bowled the 6th over of the innings and kept things tight, conceding just 3 runs from the over. The 8th over of the innings was bowled by debutant Kumar Kartikeya who continued the momentum, conceding just 3 runs from the over and getting Sanju Samson out.
8 runs came off the 9th over of the innings bowled by Pollard where he kept things in control. Kartikeya bowled the 10th over of the innings, conceding 9 runs from the over.
Mumbai is looking good at bowling for the first time in the tournament as they are keeping the Rajasthan batters on their toes. They have bowled in line and made Buttler and co to struggle for big hits. Rohit Sharma has done his homework and is managing his bowlers well. Buttler is looking a little slower than his usual form and Rajasthan will hope he will change his pace as the game progresses or it will put the team under pressure and that will result in mistakes.
The run rate at the end of 10 overs is 7.30. The projected score at this rate at the end of the innings is 155 runs. Daryl Mitchell 11 (11) and Jos Buttler 28 (28) are at the crease now.
