  1. Rohit Sharma

The no more skipper of Mumbai Indians has faced the heat of not performing with the bat in the cash rich league. His sudden demotion from captain to team player surprised many but if we look at his stats as a batter, it will also surprise us as well.

Sharma failed to touch an average of 30 since 2017 and his highest strike rate in a season was 133, which doesn’t bode well for MI given that he opens the innings. MI last won the title in 2020 under Rohit but has failed to win in the last 3 seasons.

This is Rohit’s 17th season in IPL, and he has played the most number of games after MS Dhoni. Sharma is currently the fourth-highest run-scorer in the league with 6211 runs.

Sharma, however, who is still considered as one of the most dangerous batters in white-ball cricket, will look to turn the tables and prove his mettle again as he can now play freely without captaincy pressure.

  1. Rinku Singh

The star performer of last year’s IPL, Rinku Singh, gained a lot of applauds and put himself in emerging players list after hitting 5 consecutive sixes against IPL when his side needed 29 off last over.

Singh, a member of team KKR, scored 474 in 14 games he played in IPL 2023 at an average of 59. His performance in IPL, also gained him a place in Indian T20 squad, and later he joined the Indian team for the ODI’s as well.

The 26-year-old has nothing left to prove, but with T20 World Cup will start right after the IPL 2024, and there are many talented players are in line to get into India’s squad, Singh’s run in IPL 2024 will play a crucial role for his selection in India’s T20 World Cup team.

  1. Hardik Pandya

Pandya is back in Mumbai with a bang. The star all-rounder, who started his IPL journey with Mumbai in 2015, moved to Gujarat Titans in 2022, and the franchise made him the skipper of their team, and the rest is history.

Gujarat became the winners of IPL 2022 under Pandya’s leadership and reached the finals in IPL 2023.

He has also performed well with both bat and ball, truly justified MI’s decision to make him the skipper for IPL 2024.

With Pandya considered as one of the most valuable players in IPL, he is likely to exploit on a batting friendly Wankhede’s wicket.

  1. MS Dhoni

The legendary MS Dhoni is once again ready to roar in yellow as the 42-year-old is set to play in his 17th consecutive IPL season despite leaving international cricket almost 5 years ago.

Dhoni, who usually bats at number 6, 7 or 8th position now-a-days due to game demand is the seventh-highest run-getter in IPL history with 5082 runs in 250 games.

He maintained a strike-rate of 185.71 in last year’s IPL, and no one can forget how the crowds in all parts of India used to chant his name and go crazy whenever he was on the field.

With no one sure whether he will come back to play IPL next season or not, the crowd will surely repeat the love they poured on him during the last season.

  1. Virat Kohli

The biggest brand in world cricket, Virat Kohli, who has been out of action from cricket for the last 2 months, due to personal reasons, is set to back on field in RCB colours.

Kohli has remained loyal to his franchise and vice-a-versa despite not being able to win a single title so far.

The highest run-scorer in the history of the IPL with 7263 will do everything he can to make RCB win this time. He smashed 639 runs last season at an average of 53 and will surely look to follow up his magical run.
