Team India continued their winning run in the marquee event by defeating the BANGLADESH side by 5 runs in the 35TH match of the ICC T20 World Cup in Adelaide on Wednesday.

India Vs Bangladesh match Report: Rain Interrupted the game

Batting next Bangladesh, chasing a total of 185, started with good batting in the power play overs. The score paused to 60 in the 6 overs. Later in the innings, the game was resumed under the DLS method with 151 targets in 16 overs. Then bowlers maintained the momentum by restricting the Tigers to just 145 for 6.

Virat Kohli with 64 runs and Kl Rahul with 50 runs starred with the bat in the first innings. While Surya Kumar Yadav’s 30 runs knock helped India to put 184 in 20 overs. Both Kohli and Kl Rahul recorded quick half-centuries in the process. Earlier, the skipper Rohit Sharma could not stay on the pitch and played at Adelaide.

India started their campaign on a slow note with Kl Rahul on board in the first over. Things were going modest for the side, and then the men in blue lost their first wicket of Rohit Sharma for just 2 runs early in the innings.

After an early dismissal, both batters KL and Virat took on the campaign ahead with a steady approach and put 49 on board in powerplay overs. The batters then shifted their gears and tried to hit the shot in every corner of the stadium. Courtesy of that intent the men in blue managed to add 78 runs on the Board.

After that KL Rahul was dismissed by Shakib Al Hassan after just getting a fifty after so long. India was going for a good total and then Hassan Mahmud provided a bit of shock as he removed the Indian star batter Surya Kumar Yadav for 30 runs.

The men in blue were not at all worried though, as they already have a well-set Kohli there and joined him at the crease was India’s top-ranked batter in T20Is, Hardik Pandya. But he could give too much to the score board he was dismissed early at 5 runs. And Ashwin and key Finisher Dinesh Karthik supported Kohli to take the innings forward with 13 and 7 runs each.

Kohli, as usual was brilliant with the bat and again walked back to pavilion with a not out tag. He scored 64 in 44 with the help of 8 fours and 1 six. While Surya Kumar Yadav, as expected was smashing balls all over the park, and played a knock of 30 in just 16 balls.

Bangladesh To Chase 151 in 16 Overs: IND VS BAN MATCH REPORT

As the match was resumed by the DLS method the target was cut short to 151 in 16 overs because rain has stopped the play at 6 overs with 60 runs.

India’s most experienced bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar started the proceedings for his side.

Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto however, opened their arms against Arshdeep and Bhuvaneswar kumar. While Mohammad Shami with his pace dismissed Hossain at 21 runs.

From the other end, Ashwin took the stage and after a good knock of 60 runs Litton das was dismissed. Das who was running back to the bowler’s end for the second run cannot complete the run before Rahul’s direct hit on the end.

Later in the innings, Nurul Hassan took some charge to defend the score he managed to score 25 runs in 14 balls. It was an attacking inning from his side that made the Indian bowlers under pressure.

Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya showed some good line and length. That fetch them 2 wickets each in the last crucial overs.

With just 11 runs with 2 balls on board in 16 overs game. Bangladesh was required to smash two sixes on every ball. To clinch the win the road was looking impossible to complete on time for them. And Arshdeep Singh made it impossible for them in the last over by restricting them at 145 runs.

Bangladesh could not play the full 20 overs quota. as the Rain disturbed the game which restricted them to playing 16 overs with the target of 151 runs. Therefore India won the match by 5 runs under the DLS method.
