IND vs SL: Perera Is Doubtful Despite Shoulder Injury

Sri Lanka has been greatly upset by the limited overall series against India because of the fact that its wicket-keeper, Kusal Perera, may be doubtful to begin the limited over series against India. The left-handed batsman has not participated in any of the practice sessions immediately prior to the series against India. According to reports, Perera will be examined by a Sri Lankan medical team, and an official declaration will be made on the situation.

Perera appeared in each of England’s six limited-overs matches. And if Perera is unavailable, it will undoubtedly be a major setback for the Sri Lankan team, which is already struggling.

Kusal Perera has established himself as a key component of Sri Lanka’s limited-overs squad. In T20Is, he is the fourth-best run-scorer for Sri Lanka, with 1347 runs at an average of 27.48 in 50 matches. Perera has gained over 3000 runs at a respectable average of 31.65 in the ODI version of the game.

Perera has recently been in good form in ODI cricket. He has a century and a fifty in his past  5-ODI innings. He has scored 30 or more runs in three of his previous seven T20I innings as well.

Sri Lanka’s troubles don’t really stop here. Three of Sri Lanka’s first-choice players have already been suspended for breaking the bio bubble regulations in England, including Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella.

The limited-overs series between IND vs SL will begin with the first ODI on 18’ July. Sri Lanka will play 3-ODIs, followed by a three-match T20I series beginning on July 25, 2021.

Virat Kohli, India’s regular captain, will be unavailable for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, thus experienced batsman Shikhar Dhawan will take control.
