After the tea break, Ben Foakes was discussing boundaries. Ashwin, who was playing his 100th Test match, ended the 35-run stand for the ninth wicket by removing Foakes before picking up James Anderson’s wicket to finish England’s tail. The England captain won the toss and chose to bat first at the gorgeous site. At one point, they were cruising at 137 for 2, but they lost their next eight wickets for only 81 runs.

England lost six wickets in the second session, totaling 94 runs. In the morning session, opener Zak Crawley scored a magnificent undefeated half-century after weathering an extended opening spell from Indian pacers. He scored his fourth fifty of the series, but failed to convert it. Stay tuned to Stumps and bails. com for more updates and action.
