PAK Vs BAN Match Highlights: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets to go to the T20 World Cup Semi-Finals, although despite Shanto’s fifty at the top, Bangladesh was once again harmed by their lack of precision in middle-overs play.

PAK vs BAN: A steady start from Pakistan 

Pakistan started off the chase with caution and both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan played carefully in order to avoid any kind of risk of losing wickets. But Bangladesh came back into the innings. Where Ebadot Hossain picked up the wicket of Rizwan in the eleventh over and Nasum Ahmed picked up the wicket of Babar Azam in the tenth over.

PAK vs BAN: Opening Partnership

Rizwan Scored 32 runs off 32 balls with two fours and one six, and Babar Azam scored 25 runs off 33 balls with two fours. Pakistan at the end of the powerplay managed to score 35 runs for a loss of zero wickets. Both of them contributed 57 runs to the opening partnership.

At the end of the tenth over Pakistan where 56/0, was in control of the innings but things started to fall apart as both the openers were dismissed under two overs. Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Nawaz were at the crease at the end of the 12th over.

Pakistan were wishing for one player to shine and this time it was Mohammad Haris who played a crucial inning after losing two wickets in the middle overs. He played a wonderful innings scoring runs at regular intervals. Haris scored 31 runs from 18 balls with one four and two sixes on a strike rate of 172.22.

PAK vs BAN: Bangladesh Bowlers 

The bowlers were not at their best as Nasum Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, and Ebadot Hossain all three of them picked up one wicket each. Bangladesh bowler tried their best to restrict Pakistan but failed to do so.

PAK vs BAN Last four overs 

Pakistan needed 18 off the final 24 balls to win the match and qualify for the semi-finals. Pakistan’s middle-order batsman stepped up to the crease scoring regular boundaries and the running between the wickets was also on point. Shan Masood played a good Cameo of 24 not out of 14 balls.

PAK vs BAN Player of the Match 

Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi received  Player of the Match for picking up four wickets, Shaheen came back from injury and played a key role in helping Pakistan qualify for the Semi-finals. After the match in the post-match interview, he stated “I am improving day by day. Not easy to bowl at 140 after coming back from injury. We have played good cricket in the last few games. The team needed me to bowl well. We are looking forward to the final actually.”

PAK vs BAN: Pakistan Qualify for the Semi-finals

Pakistan has advanced to the semifinals despite suffering painful defeats to India and Zimbabwe, being 43/4 against South Africa. Another sluggish start from the openers today, and despite everything else.

Pakistan was almost out of the World Cup after the loss against Zimbabwe and India in the first two matches. The situation was out of the hands of Pakistan as they then had to rely on other teams’ results to qualify for the semis. And things really went in Pakistan’s favour were they beat Bangladesh on the final match of super 12 and qualify for the semi-finals.
