ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Qualifiers: Scotland Post 161 for West Indies to Chase

West Indies and Scotland are squaring off to find position in Super 12. In the 3rd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, West Indies have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Scotland batting first scored a good total of 160. West Indies need 161 to win the match.

Scotland First Innings

Scotland should have gotten a few more runs for the start they had. However, 160 runs is still a lot of runs. Munsey has brought his bat with him. He had a wonderful day. He started off well but failed to centre the ball. could not hit the boundary for 35 balls, but he was able to get three in the last over to help his team to a respectable total.

After a 47-minute break, WI bowled brilliantly to slow Scotland thanks to the rain gods. When Munsey was having trouble, MacLeod provided them the much-needed boost, and Greaves received some helpful hits for a strong finish. The preferred bowlers were Holder and Alzarri. The pitch is excellent for batting. If West Indies don’t lose wickets, they should look into this.

When asked how he feels about his knock, Munsey admits that he is “quite irritated to be honest.” “I was able to hit the ball well before it started to rain. He continues, “I believe I got a little stiff waiting in the rain. I encourage our team to find the length necessary to strike the stumps’ tops and pose a challenge for them.

What to expect next?

Don’t count Scotland just yet; Namibia stunned Sri Lanka with a comparable score yesterday. When Munsey and Jones went ballistic, West Indies were in a panic.

West Indies is a dominant T20 nation. Batting depth, bowling combinations, run rate, fielding prowess, etc. – The West Indies are the side most capable of making all those contemporary analyses seem pointless. As seen in the past when guys from the Caribbean dominated international cricket thanks to their amazing six-hitting skills. The most important query, though, is whether or if the Caribbean magic will return when they launch their campaign.

Ahead of the match, Pooran had himself admitted about team’s lack of form. He said “ We are underdogs in this tournament as much as we have won the tournament twice, and a lot of people, a lot of media you see, a lot of people don’t think we can even qualify, as well. So it will mean a lot for us.”
