India hasn’t always excelled in the biggest tournaments, and its recent performance in the Asia Cup was disappointing. After that, the team played Australia and South Africa in the preparatory series for the World Cup, winning both of them convincingly.

Team India T20 World Cup 2022 Strengths

Batting lineup like no other

India has the strongest batting lineup of all the teams participating in the T20 World Cup 2022. Be it KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav or Hardik Pandya. All players know how to get team out of trouble and they know how to do it well. These are stars any team would shell pockets to have in their team and they form the top 6 of team India. Batting is India’s biggest strength.

Good memories in Australia

In recent past, we have seen that India has performed incredibly in Australia. Be it tests, ODI or T20s, the team has won most of their series played down under. The men in blue have learnt well how to take these conditions well and perform based on their capabilities. Their recent outings will help the team.

A well experienced team

The average age of players of Team India that has been selected for the WC 2022 is around 30. The team hones talented players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, who already are called legends. Apart from them, we have youngsters who are exposed to players participating in T20 WC through IPL. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses will help the team strategize better.

A winning momentum

Even though India didn’t perform well in Asia Cup 2022, the team has nailed every T20I bilateral series they have played in 2022. They carry a massive advantage of winning momentum over every team coming into the World Cup. This will help the team boost their confidence.

Team India T20 World Cup 2022 Weaknesses

Death Bowling Debacle

Time in and again, India has failed to perform well as a bowling unit. They try to restrict runs in the start and middle but their death bowling is too bad to not call out. The team gives runs so rapidly that all the burden comes down to batters if it is a chase. The team has to come up with a solution for this or else there is no saving them.

The Bumrah effect

We all are trying to get over the fact that Bumrah will not be part of the squad. Even though stats don’t prove that Bumrah is all India needs but deep down we know the impact he has on the team. He and Bhuvneshwar would have killed it in the middle had he been fit and fine but he is not. Fans are missing him and so is the team. This will impact India’s confidence massively.

Fielding fiasco

From being one of the best fielding sides a couple of years ago to now being a side that loses matches because they drop catches. The team has shown significant deterioration in terms of fielding standards. Apart from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, no fielder seems reliable. The youngsters really need to work on their body language.

ICC Trophy Trouble

India won’t always come out on top. Overconfidence has the drawback of making people start to relax. These defeats serve as reminders for us to improve in the majority of ICC competitions where India has struggled to establish itself as the cricketing world’s undisputed hegemon. We succeed in winning as many bilateral series, but we must recognize that the World Cup is called the largest competition for a reason, and success there does demonstrate a point.
