India vs England 1st innings update: Rohit Surya Backs the side, India posts 229/ 9

In the 29th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow on 29th October, 2023, After winning the toss England captain Jos Buttler has elected to ball first. Both the teams are unchanged and India skipper Rohit Sharma says he was looking to bat first as well and doesn’t mind doing that.

Starting for the Side, Rohit and Shubhman went in as the opening pair, Rohit facing the first ball. The first over by David Willey went hard for the Indian side with no runs. The pressure started building on the crease. Shubham Gill went off to Chris Woakes in a fuller length ball.  In row it was  upset day for Virat Kohli dismissed to David Willey in a short ball hitting over long on but Ben stokes too k it easily without any miss.

The Streak continues with Shreyas Iyer went off with the same style. Mean while Rohit needed a batting partner to hit some good strokes and add some numbers on the board. Kl Comes in, stays a bit long on the crease hits a much needed 39 runs with good pace and patience, from the other end Rohit completes his half century. But England bowlers took it a job to break the Rohit- Rahul partnership, David Willey with Jonny Bairstow executes with and ease. Rahul Went off at 39 runs, After KL Rahul, Rohit took the charges again and hits some needed runs for the side. Went off to Adil Rashid in a googly at 87 off 101

Coming in at 6 Surya Kumar enjoys batting at the slow pitch using the bowlers pace in directions over the rope. With 1 six and 4 fours in the session, but missed the half century but a great job for the side when the batting side was drowning in the fall of wickets. Jadeja and Mohammed Shami did cameos on the pitch. While Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav hold some runs for the side in the death overs.

While England bowlers did a good job for the side, stating from the maiden over David Willey that created a good pace to create some pressure for Indian batters in the run making session. David Willey remains the top wicket takers for the side. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid took 2 for the side. While Mark Wood did not went efficient for the side.
