Government Gives BCCI Green Signal To Reopen Stadiums

BCCI To Chalk Out Skill-Based Training Programme With State Associations:

BCCI announced that it will coordinate with different state organizations, to establish a skill-based training program for cricketers, with the government to allow for the reopening of sports complexes and stadiums.

But with air travel and transportation restrictions, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said on Sunday that the board would not hurry to set up training camps for its contracting players.

In the fourth phase lockdown process, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MHA) has published guidelines allowing sports complexes and stadiums but has stopped the viewers to enter into the stadium in our country.

The BCCI acknowledged the Ministry of the Home Affairs for the containment of COVID 19 across the country on Sunday,” said Dhumal in a press statement.

MHA Released Guidelines For The Fourth Phase Of Lockdown:

He said, “The BCCI will wait until May 31 in order to arrange an expert training camp for its contracted players, bearing in mind the restrictions on air travel.”

The entire Indian cricket team should draw up an appropriate plan once the situation is further improved.

“Once it comes together with State Cricket Associations, the BCCI will review guidelines at the state level and will work on a system of local training,” Dhumal said.

“If the situation is further changed,” he said. “The BCCI office staff are going to start with their interactions with team management.

“Cricketers and support staff health and well-being are important to the BCCI,” said Dhumal.

“The Board confirms that its athletes and support staff ‘s safety and well-being are of utmost importance and do not rush toward the decision that could hamper or compromise India’s efforts to prevent the spread of the Virus,” the Board stated.

In the meantime, sports event organization constraints tend to reduce the opportunity for organizing the IPL in the near future.
