Who are the Top 10 Tallest Bowlers In the World?

Bowlers always end up exerting themselves more. Pacers especially have to toil a lot harder. They need to have well-built bodies that can help them last the day. Their endurance level is expected to be at its premium best. Only the fittest of fast bowlers and bowlers, in general, have gone on to dominate the game. In this article, we have mentioned the Top 10 Tallest Bowlers In Cricket History.

There have been plenty of bowlers in cricket history who have had an impact on the game. Few were popular owing to their skill while few were popular owing to their appearance. The tallest bowlers are one of its kind breeds. They have a towering presence on the game (quite literally).

Who is the Tallest Bowler In The World Cricket History?:

#10 Tom Moody Height

Tom Moody much like Steve Waugh is a two-time World Cup winner (1987 and 1999). He was a handy allrounder lower down the order. Moody bowled military medium pace but his height fetched him extra bounce. He troubled the batsmen with this disconcerting bounce. Moody is a much-respected figure in cricketing circles. He is a well-renowned coach who has head coaching experience with International sides as well as franchises. The 6 feet 7 inches tall Moody is quite literally a towering personality!

#9 Sulieman Benn Height

Sulieman Benn was a feisty character. He was known for never taking a back step. In a country dominated by pacers, Benn was an unconventional exception. He kept plugging away at one end despite limited rewards. Benn represented the Windies side in 26 Tests, 47 ODIs, and 24 T20Is. He had 144 international wickets to his name. But he is vividly remembered for his altercation with Australian wicketkeeper, Brad Haddin. Benn successfully managed to get under the Aussie skin. The fact that he stood at 6 feet 7 inches tall surely aided his case.

#8 Jason Holder Height

Jason Holder is one of the gentle giants of the game. He is arguably the world’s most effective all-rounder. But Holder hardly receives the praise he deserves. He has been a relentless servant of the game. Holder recently bagged a million-dollar IPL contract in the mega auction. The big-hitting allrounder stands at 6 feet 7 inches. He uses his long lever to great effect in smashing sixes downtown.

#7 Curtly Ambrose Height

Curtly Ambrose remains one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time. Ambrose was a deadly bowler in his prime. He was even more deadly when somebody riled him up. Steve Waugh was famously known for his mental disintegration. He once rubbed Ambrose the wrong way. A grump Ambrose then took a complete toll on the home side (Australia). He returned with figures of 7 wickets for 1 run in a historic spell. The world woke up to take notice of this sleeping giant. His name was Curtly Ambrose. He stood at 6 feet 7 inches tall.

#6 Joel Garner Height

Joel Garner was one among the famous Caribbean quartet who blew away sides. Garner always lets the ball do the talking. His greatest moment came during the 1979 World Cup final. England was on the verge of chasing down the total in the final. But that is when Garner rose to the task. He picked up 5 wickets in the space of 9 balls to completely derail the chase. Garner stood at a mighty 6 feet 8 inches.

#5 Bruce Reid Height

Bruce Reid had a very distinctive personality. His tall wiry frame separated him from the rest. He was one of the most talked-about cricketers during his playing days. Reid was one of those cricketers who made colored cricket clothing popular. He was more than handy with the ball. Reid stood tall at 6 feet 8 inches. His personality surely remains one for the ages.

#4 Billy Stanlake Height

Billy Stanlake made an immediate impression when he made his debut. He was able to move the ball both ways at an awkward bounce. Batters found it difficult to ride the bounce that was thrown at them. He soon represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Stanlake is one of the very few fast bowlers who stands on the higher side of 6 feet. His presence in the ground is unmistakable. Stanlake stands at 6 feet 8 inches.

#3 Boyd Rankin Height

Boyd Rankin is one of those Irish cricketers who has also played for England. He was one of the flag-bearers of Irish cricket. He came running in hardball after ball. Rankin enjoyed great success in the ODI format. He picked up 106 wickets in 75 ODIs. Rankin also played 4 Tests. But the most striking aspect about him was his height. He stood at 6 feet 8 inches.

#2 Kyle Jamieson Height

Kyle Jamieson is arguably one of the most promising players. He made a sensational debut against India in the 2020 home season. Jamieson proved that he isn’t a one-series wonder in the WTC Final. He put in a player of the match performance against India picking a 5-wicket haul. Jamieson soon became a hot property across international circuits. IPL team, RCB picked him for a whopping INR 15 crores. The most striking aspect of Jamieson is his height. He stands at 6 feet 8 inches.

#1 Mohammad Irfan Height

Mohammad Irfan is the tallest bowler in the history of the game. He created ripples in international cricket when he burst onto the scene in 2012-13. Irfan made life difficult for batters primarily owing to his height. He is probably the only bowler whose height was more than 7 feet. Irfan stood at 7 feet 1 inch. His balls arrived at an overall height of 10 feet. This made batsmen quite uncomfortable facing him. He remains the tallest bowler in cricketing history.
