Afghanistan vs West Indies: Twitterati Celebrates T20I Series Win Of Afghans

Afghanistan scored a clinical win against Bangladesh to clinch the T20I series 2-1. After their defeat in the ODI series, Afghans made a comeback with two clinical wins, helping them to register a win in the series.

As usual, Afghans went to bat first after winning the toss in the last match. Hazratullah Zazai left for a golden duck and both Karim Janat and Ibrahim Zadran followed him.

It was Rahmanullah Gurbaz who was involved in a 50 run partnership with Asghar for the 4th wicket. Even after the Asghar’s dismissal, he went on to score 79 off 52 deliveries, which included 6 fours and 5 sixes.
Later on, Mohammad Nabi came up with a couple of boundaries towards the end, and they ended up with 156 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Sheldon Cottrell, Kesrick Williams, and Keemo Paul picked up two wickets each for the Windies.

In the second innings, the Windies opener Lendl Simmons was dismissed for 7 with King followed by 1. The top-order Evin Lewis made a contribution of 24 off 23 after the opener’s dismissal. It was Shai Hope who scored a brilliant half-century after the fall of three wickets. From the other end, there were no major contributions and Windies had a disappointing end to their innings with their score remaining at 127 for 7 at the end.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Naveen-ul-Haq got off top-order to a start giving Afghanistan a headstart. Skipper Rashid Khan picked up the important wicket of Shimron Hetmyer and Naveen-ul-Haq dismissed the Kieron Pollard to put an end to their run-chase.

Afghans bowled well and scored a 29-run win in the third game.
