Sana Mir Announces Break From International Cricket

Sana Mir, the former captain of Pakistan national women’s cricket team in T20Is and ODIs, has announced a break from international cricket in order to improve her future objectives and targets. Therefore, she will miss the T20Is and ODIs of the upcoming ICC women’s championship against England in Kuala Lumpur.

On Wednesday (November 20) in a PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) release, Mir said, “I have decided to take a break from international cricket and, as such, will not be available for selection for next month’s series against England.”

She stated that she would utilize this period to plan and reset her targets and future objectives.

“My best wishes will remain with the Pakistan national women’s team in the series against England, and I am sure they’ll produce their best cricket,” Mir added.

She became the first Pakistani women cricketer to rank number one in ICC ODI bowler rankings.

Pakistan’s national women’s cricket squad is all set to play against England for three ODIs followed by three T20Is in Kuala Lumpur starting from December 9th. In Mir’s absence, the remaining 20 probable players will go through a training camp in Karachi from 21st November. A 15 player squad will be announced on November 27.
