The eighth week of IPL capped off the league stage. Post completion of 70 games, the competition finally has its final top four. The batters from these four teams have a distinct advantage over other batters in this list. They can leapfrog a few names present in this current list.
We Look At The Top 10 Batsmen At The End Of Week Eight:
#10 Rahul Tripathi (413)
He has been fantastic for SRH this season. Rahul Tripathi put on quite a show in the game against Mumbai this week. He breached the 400-run mark this season. Tripathi finishes with 413 runs at an average of 37.55. He struck these runs at a whopping 158.23.
#9 Ishan Kishan (418)
After a long hiatus from the run-scorers list, Ishan Kishan makes it to the list this week. He finishes this season with 418 runs at an average of 32.15. His strike rate (120.11) was quite underwhelming.
#8 Abhishek Sharma (426)
It was for the first time that Abhishek Sharma has crossed the 400-run mark in an IPL season. Opening the innings, Sharma amassed 426 runs this season at an average of 30.43. His strike rate of 133.12 was decent too.
#7 David Warner (432)
He has dropped down four spots in the run-scoring charts. David Warner could just add five runs to his tally this week. Despite this, he finishes as Delhi’s highest-ranked batter. Warner notched up 432 runs in 12 games at an average of 48. His strike rate of 150.52 is stellar!
#6 Liam Livingstone (437)
He has repaid every ounce of faith PBKS had in him. Liam Livingstone had an IPL season to remember. He smoked 437 runs at an average of 36.42. But it is his strike rate (182.08) that stands out. His strike rate is easily the best on this list.
#5 Faf du Plessis (443)
The RCB captain, Faf du Plessis has jumped two spots this week. He has chances to go better this week too as RCB has made it to the playoffs. Faf has currently amassed 443 runs in 14 games at an average of 34.08. His strike rate of 130.67 is decent too.
#4 Shikhar Dhawan (460)
The IPL veteran, Shikhar Dhawan has also moved two spots upwards this week. He finishes another IPL season with 400+ runs. Dhawan amassed 460 runs in 14 games at an average of 38.33. But his strike rate of 122.66 stuck out like a sore thumb.
The PBKS opener has dropped two spots this week. He added 21 runs more to his kitty in week seven. Shikhar Dhawan has had another 400 runs season. He has scored 402 runs in 12 games so far. He averages 40.20 but his strike rate of 122.93 is a bit of a dampener.
#3 Quinton De Kock (502)
He has powered his way through the list on the back of a sensational century against KKR. Quinton De Kock played arguably one of the all-time best IPL knocks. His 140* helped him grab a third spot on the list. Quinton through that knock also breached the 500 run-mark. He has currently scored 502 runs at an average of 38.62. His strike rate of 149.40 is hugely impressive for an opener.
#2 KL Rahul (537)
His unbeaten opening partnership with Quinton will remain one of the season’s highlights. KL Rahul is currently sitting second in the run-getters chart. He has scored 537 runs at an average of 48.82. His strike rate of 135.26 is pretty good too.
#1 Jos Buttler (629)
It has been a season of two halves for Jos Buttler. In the first half, he had powered his way through scoring 491 runs comprising 3 centuries. Buttler since then could only muster 138 runs in the next seven games. He has amassed 629 runs at an average of 48.38. His strike rate of 146.96 continues to impress.
