Indian Team To Get Double Wages For Oversea Tours

The Indian team has been doing amazingly well in the overseas with a limited-overs series win in South Africa, T20I series win in England and Test and ODI series win in Australia. They also recently remained unbeaten on the tour to West Indies.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has decided to reward the players by doubling their daily allowance during international series. The Vinod Rai-led panel had a meeting in New Delhi where various issues and allowances of the team on home and away series was seen to be discussed.

As per a report, the Indian players and coaching staff will now get a daily allowance of $250 (Rs 17,799.30) as compared to the earlier amount of $125 (Rs 8,899.65). However, the pay at home remains unchanged.

The report further states that the foreign travel allowance is over and above the business class travel, accommodation and laundry expenses that the BCCI pays for. While the Indians are slated to play mostly at home this year, they are set to travel to New Zealand at the start of 2020.

Skipper Kohli who is doing a fab performance against South Africa said that the winning games in the longest format and that too away from home is what his real motive is as leader of the unit. In fact, he has now gone past both M.S. Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly as the most successful Indian skipper on foreign soil.
